  • POST#2019-05  CNC Operator I /Machinist II

    POSITION TITLE: CNC Operator I/Machinist II

    PAY GRADE:  H4-H5 ($16.85 -$25.27/$18.01-$27.01 +shift premium)

    DEPARTMENT:  Manufacturing (100)

    REPORTS TO:  Production Supervisor

    SHIFTS AVAILABLE: Afternoons: 3pm-11pm and Midnights 11pm-7am

     

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Operates CNC mills to close tolerances

    • Measures and checks parts for surface roughness and geometric parameter conformance

    • Performs set up using pre-established programs

    • Selects and changes tools

    • Edits programs as instructed

    • Enters and checks offsets

    • Basic machine maintenance

    • Cross train on CNC lathes and conventional machines as required

    • Other duties as assigned

     

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Obtain Enhanced Security Clearance from the Government of Canada

    • Maintenance of secure and confidential company information

    • Adherence to Colt Canada Corporation’s policies and procedures

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ontario Secondary School Diploma

    • Machinist certification an asset; but not required

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a CNC Operator in a metal fabrication environment, manufacturing parts with tight tolerances

    • Experience working in an ISO certified environment

     

    CONTACTS AND RELATIONSHIPS:

    • Internal – All department and personnel, specifically Supervisor, Lead Hands, Machine Operators, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Control etc.

    • External – Auditors, suppliers

     

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH & SAFETY ISSUES, CONDITIONS, PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Manufacturing/machine shop environment – PPE required (glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection)

    • Able to stand for extended periods of time

    • Able to lift up to 50lbs

    • Able to complete repetitive tasks (loading/unloading machines, moving materials and completed parts etc.)

     

    INTERNAL TRAINING NEEDS:

    • Colt Canada policies and procedures, as per Job Specific Training Criteria

    • WHMIS

  • POST#2018-10  Contracts Administrator

    POSITION TITLE: Contract Administrator

    PAY GRADE: C

    DEPARTMENT: Contracts

    REPORTS TO: VP of Programs & Customer Support or Sr. Contracts Administrator

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Managing minor contracts as assigned by the Manager and assisting Sr. Contract Administrator’s with major contracts.

    • Review new contracts to ensure all terms and conditions are in accordance with company policy.

    • Processing and negotiating contract amendments due to changes in scope of work, design, etc.

    • Monitoring, expediting and reporting program status internally and externally.

    • Collect necessary information to create customer program reports as required.

    • Formulating pricing for contracts of all types in accordance with company policies.

    • Submit proposals in accordance with company policies based on coordinated inputs from “supplier” departments.

    • With the assistance of a Sr. Contract Administrator, acting as customer interface for minor contracts on routine matters.

    • Process and /or support the preparation of import / export documentation as required.

    • Using the MRP System to enter, amend and monitor existing contracts.

    • Maintenance of the filing system, including archiving completed contracts and setting up quote files.

    • Maintain all vendor / non – disclosure and other miscellaneous agreements revalidating as necessary and assisting the contracts department in special projects as required.

    • Prepare, log and follow-up the completion of ECP/ECR/DCP in accordance with company procedures and applicable customer requirements.

    • Other duties and job functions as may from time to time be requested by the Contracts Manager

     

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Obtain Enhanced Security Clearance from the Government of Canada

    • Maintenance of secure and confidential company information

    • Adherence to Colt Canada Corporation’s policies and procedures

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Post-secondary education in a business or marketing program

    • Some knowledge of contract law

    • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid Possession and Acquisition of Firearms License

    • Internal – Colt Canada employees at all levels of all departments

    • External – Canadian, and international, government and commercial and Law Enforcement customers

     

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH & SAFETY ISSUES, CONDITIONS, PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Office environment (Colt Canada and customer)

    • Manufacturing, assembly, range and lab areas – PPE required

    • Domestic and International Travel where required to assist Sr Contracts Administrator.

    • Orientation

    • WHMIS

    • Controlled Goods Program

    • Non-restricted and Restricted Firearms Training

    • Complete all requirements on the Contracts Administrator Training Criteria form
