  • POST#2018-04  Shipper/Receiver

    POSITION TITLE: Shipper/Receiver

    PAY GRADE:  H3 ($16.40 - $24.60)

    DEPARTMENT:  Stores (300)

    REPORTS TO:  Stores Master

     

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Daily shipping and receiving;

    • Documentation of all incoming and outgoing shipments using ledgers, packing slips etc.;

    • Prepare bills of lading as required;

    • Prepare customs forms as needed;

    • Count all items, in and out;

    • Manual, and assisted, load and unload of company and third party delivery vehicles;

    • Determine appropriate transportation needs and make arrangements with carriers;

    • Support annual inventory, periodic internal and external audits;

    • Support Purchasing in obtaining export permits as required; and,

    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Ensuring on time delivery/receipt of product;

    • Accurate reporting/tracking of incoming and outgoing shipments;

    • Obtain Enhanced Security Clearance from the Government of Canada;

    • Maintenance of secure and confidential company information;

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent;

    • Valid G License;

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role including 3 years professional driving experience (5 ton trucks) and 3 years’ experience driving forklift;

    • Experience using all material handling equipment including weigh scales and packaging equipment;

    • Experience working with customs brokers to obtain/provide required paperwork for international shipping is an asset;

    • Excellent computer skills;

    • Has, or is able to obtain, Restricted Possession and Acquisition License;

    • Able to perform physical work walking, lifting, and carrying for extended periods of time.

  • POST#2018-25  Maintenance Support Technician

    POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Support

    PAY GRADE:  H3 ($16.40 - $18.00/hour based on experience)

    DEPARTMENT:  Maintenance (145)

    REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor

     

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Complete building maintenance, plant hygiene and washroom maintenance as instructed by Maintenance Supervisor

    • Assist in sweeping of all floors and aisles in the manufacturing, assembly areas and plant offices.

    • Collecting trash from all plant areas and dumping into the compactor.

    • Assisting the tool crib in the collection and distribution of shop coats and floor mats.

    • Machine cleaning, office drywall repair and painting.

    • Recover oil from metal chips.

    • Empty all machine chip buckets.

    • Assist other maintenance people if required.

    • Maintain stock of chemicals in the oil shed and report to the supervisor if stock is low.

    • Cleaning out and refilling various varsol, oil and degreasing tanks.

    • Cleaning out and refilling machine coolant tanks.

    • Removing snow from walkways and exit doors during winter and general grounds cleaning outside during summer months.

    • General cafeteria cleaning including ovens, sink, refrigerator, etc.

    • Plumbing repairs; i.e. repair toilets, install new taps, etc.

    • Minor building repairs; i.e. carpentry, cement work, etc.

    • Window cleaning (inside & outside)

     

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Timely completion of Preventative Maintenance schedule as assigned by supervisor

    • Obtain Enhanced Security Clearance from the Government of Canada

    • Maintenance of secure and confidential company information

    • Adherence to Colt Canada Corporation’s policies and procedures

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

    • Must be able to organize and carry out all duties.

    • Should have basic mechanical skills.

    • TDG Training.

    • Able to obtain forklift license

    • Able to pass job related physical assessment

  • POST#2018-21 CNC Operator I / Machinist II

    JOB DESCRIPTION

     

    POSITION TITLE: CNC Operator I/Machinist II

    PAY GRADE:  H4-H5 ($16.85 -$25.27/$18.01-$27.01)

    DEPARTMENT:  Manufacturing (100)

    REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

     

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Operates CNC lathes to close tolerances

    • Measures and checks parts for surface roughness and geometric parameter conformance

    • Performs set up using pre-established programs

    • Selects and changes tools

    • Edits programs as instructed

    • Enters and checks offsets

    • Basic machine maintenance

    • Cross train on CNC lathes and conventional machines as required

    • Other duties as assigned

     

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Obtain Enhanced Security Clearance from the Government of Canada

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ontario Secondary School Diploma

    • Machinist certification an asset; but not required

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a CNC Operator in a metal fabrication environment, manufacturing parts with tight tolerances

    • Experience working in an ISO certified environment

    • Perform in-process and completed inspections of products such as machined parts, mechanical assemblies, processed parts, and purchased standard hardware

    • Inspection of part identification and configuration

    • Prepares or generate technical reports

    • Assists in resolution teams at all levels with corrective and preventative action

    • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time

     

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Identify and segregate non-conforming product

    • Effectively meet operation schedule

    • Obtain Enhanced Security Clearance from the Government of Canada

    JOB DESCRIPTION

     

    POSITION TITLE: CMM Operator

    PAY GRADE: H5 ($18.01 - $27.01/hour)

    DEPARTMENT: Quality Control (200)

    REPORTS TO:  Quality Supervisor, Quality Manager

     

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for the programming and operation of CMM equipment ensuring compliance to part specifications

    • Participates in the scheduling and documentation process of PPAP and First Article, including completing gauge R&R, SPC and MSA studies

    • Creation of gauge and inspection work instructions and participates in operator training

    • Maintains fixture and gauge calibration as required

    • Prepares technical reports

    • Maintain, control and update quality management system as it pertains to the CMM operation

    • Assists in resolution teams at all levels with corrective and preventative action

    • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time

  • POST#2018-10  Senior Contracts Administrator

    POSITION TITLE: Senior Contracts Administrator

    PAY GRADE:  D ($80,000 - $90,000 annual)

    DEPARTMENT: Programs & Customer Support

    REPORTS TO: Director or Programs & Customer Support

     

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Primary point of contact for new and existing customers when formulating, updating, and completing contracts and orders

    • Manages large, complex contracts, by:

    • Interpreting customer requirements and translates them into operating instructions to all departments involved

    • Leading Initial contract planning and scheduling through consultation with customers and internal “supplier departments”

    • Participating in optimizing program performance

    • Processing and negotiating contract amendments due to changes in scope of work, design, etc.

    • Monitoring, expediting and reporting program status internally and externally

    • Acting as liaison with the customer on all contractual matters

    • Identifying the need for, and appropriate drafting NS utilization for various legal agreements (NDAs, MOUs, Representation Agreements, and MLAs etc.)

    • Inform customers of possible issues associated with contracts and purchase orders

    •  Ensuring prompt attention to customer complaints and ensure internal activities are aimed towards providing customer support and satisfaction.

    • Through regular contact with current customers, identify opportunities for additional orders either by way of contract scope changes or new  potential

      opportunities

    • Support monthly forecast reviews by confirming status on current firm contracts and identifying status on additional opportunities identified by customers.

    • Maintains regular contact with Colt Canada customers in a professional manner

    • Mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to Junior Contract Administrators

    • Other duties, tasks, and projects as assigned

     

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Timely and accurate reporting of contract status

    • Strict compliance with Colt Canada’s ethics and business policies

    • Ensures inclusion of all contracting activity in departmental reports

    • Builds and maintains professional relationships within Colt Canada Corporation and our Canadian, and international customers

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 5+ years’ experience in business, with at least 3 years’ Contract Negotiation and Administration within a technical environment

    • Experience with government contracting policy (emphasis on Canadian)

  • POST#2018-04  Senior Product Support Engineer

    We are looking for a Senior Product Support Engineer to join our Engineering Department in Kitchener, ON.

     

    In this full-time, permanent role you will be working as part of a team to design firearm components, assemblies and ancillaries. You will be responsible for reviewing new and revised drawings for accuracy and safety in accordance with accepted engineering standards. You will contribute to the design of test protocols and fixtures, and support training, trade shows, and program logistics with military, law enforcement, and Colt personnel.

     

    Those who are successful in this role have the following:

    • P.Eng in good standing

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or equivalent

    • Experience in mechanical part and assembly design

    • Thorough knowledge of 3D CAD, part modeling (Autodesk Inventor and/or PTC Creo)

    • Metallurgical background (an asset)

    • Willing to obtain RPAL (Restricted Possession and Acquisition License)
